Planes…

We started the day at a very hipster breakfast place, Busboys and Poets. Then we set off for Museum day 1.

First we visited the Natural History Museum. The London version has Dippy the diplodocus, Washington has an elephant as its centrepiece.  We spent a few hours visiting the exhibits – our personal favourite was the disease and epidemics exhibit.

Next we walked the short distance to the National Air and Space Museum. At this point, the heavens opened and we had our first thunderstorm of the holiday. In the Museum, we particularly liked the exhibits about flight and the Wright brothers, and the Planetarium.

For tea, we went across town to a Balkan restaurant I found online. We had all you can eat food and drinks, and the food was excellent. We tried lots of new dishes, including kajmar (a creamy sort of dip) and a spicy steak tartare.
