…Trains, and Automobiles

We had waffles for breakfast today, chocolate for Tom and banana and Nutella for me. Yum.

The sun was out in the morning so we walked away from the White House to see the Capitol building properly. Another very impressive building. We then visited the Newseum, a museum all about the media and the news. This was really interesting and we spent about 4 hours there in the end. We saw a piece of the Berlin Wall and learnt how news was one of the only things that made it back and forth across the wall. We also saw front pages from newspapers around the world and from key dates in the last few centuries.  They also had Pulitzer Prize-winning photos from the past 70 years, which were so interesting to look at.

Finally we spent an hour or so in the American History Museum. We were flagging a bit by this point, so we only looked round a few exhibits, such as American inventions and transport – we did see some classic cars and trains before we left.

Burger then a McFlurry for tea (rolo – good choice) then an early night before we start the road trip tomorrow.
