We had a nice breakfast at the hotel, then set off for a sight seeing day in Charleston. We walked through the historic and French quarters to the battery on the end of the peninsula, past lots of beautiful houses, some looked like they were straight out of a village in the Dordogne!
Next we visited the old customs house and had a tour of the dungeons, which were used for storage of goods then as a prison. We walked through the market, before meeting our group for our culinary tour of Charleston. Our guide took us to 4 different restaurants and gave us information about the history and cuisine of Charleston.
- Sliders and Cheese fritters from Poogans Smokehouse
- Peanut Butter Pie from the Blind Tiger Pub
- Monkey Bread from The Blind Tiger Pub
We popped back to the hotel for a quick pit stop, then went to Kaminsky’s dessert cafe for pudding. A busy, well fed day.
